Sales Internships

All sales majors are required to complete a 3 credit Practicum which consists of either an internship, or selection to the Sales Team. Internships must be approved by the Sales Institute director and registered for in advance of starting to work. The Sales Institute recommends all internships be compensated for work performed or sales completed. Always get written documentation about how you will be compensated. The Sales Executive Intern will gain an understanding of the Insurance Industry and the distribution models for Insurance Products. The program will provide our interns with a broad understanding of Business to Business and Business to Consumer sales for Financial Products. Our interns will build valuable skills in identifying and developing new business opportunities by developing desired outcomes for specific issues facing private and public entities.

Primary Responsibilities: During our Internship Program, the Sales Executive Intern will complete a rotation through critical teams which help assess issues, develop solutions, negotiate risk transfer contracts, and provide claims advocacy on behalf of policy holders. Our Interns will develop critical sales skills in opportunity identification, lead nurturing, effective sales process, and implementation of financial products.

Qualifications: Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university. Ideal candidates will be outgoing, professional, and congenial – with inquisitive personalities and critical thinkers. Candidates must also be driven, self-starting, and entrepreneurial while demonstrating a high level of maturity. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common business documents, and a high capacity for learning is critical.

And on any device or network.  We offer a 12 week summer internship at our Fort Lauderdale corporate office, to help you will learn the activities involved in the day to day support of the various sales teams as it pertains to sales accounts.  The position works with the Inside, Field, SMB, and Renewal Sales teams.  You will assist team members with resolving issues and be an escalation point of contact for customer requests from the team.  In addition, you will learn account management, including receiving customer phone calls and performing requested renewal quotes.
